If it is not documented, it did not happen.
§ 12 ArbSchG (German Occupational Safety and Health Act) obliges you to instruct your employees adequately: when they start, when things change and regularly after that. DGUV Vorschrift 1 § 4 turns this into "at least once a year" and requires the instruction to be documented.
With forklifts, cranes, work platforms and construction machinery, the first thing the accident insurer asks after an accident is when the last instruction took place. Without a record, it counts as not done.
Online instruction will cover the general knowledge part of the annual instruction. Instruction specific to your workplace, your routes, the operating instructions and the actual machine remains your task as the employer. Together they make up the complete instruction.
How it will work.
Online instruction is not live yet. This is how it is planned:
Buy seats
In the company portal you choose the instruction and the quantity, on invoice.
Unlock per employee
Select employees and assign. The instruction then appears in the app, even if someone installs the app later.
Video and questionnaire
Watch the video, then 20 questions in 15 minutes. Pass from 80 percent, otherwise retake with newly drawn questions.
Proof and next deadline
Completion date, next due date and the PDF are in the portal.

When will online instruction be available?
It is coming to the app soon. Select "Online instruction (coming soon)" in the form and we will get in touch as soon as it launches. Until then we instruct your team on site.
What can we book right now?
The annual instruction on site, at your premises or in Cologne, and all training courses. Just send us an enquiry.
Will online instruction replace instruction at work?
No, it will cover the general knowledge part. You still do the site- and machine-specific part yourself, for example in a short walk-round with the operating instructions.
How do we prove on-site instruction?
After the session the record with its date is available as a PDF in the company portal. There you also see when the next instruction is due.
When is extra instruction needed?
For new tasks, new equipment, changed procedures or after an accident. The portal shows you the next regular due date.
